Lifestyle fitness and custom coaching by kel

Hey, I'm Kelly

Or Kelz. Or Coach Kel... Whichever you prefer.

I’m a fitness-minded, science-loving nerd with a passion for traveling and a drive to help align people with their goals. My favorite challenge is finding ways to incorporate successful and enjoyable health-based journeys into the busy and hectic schedules of badass women. You know, the ones out there just crushing it on the daily, doing absolutely everything they can to take care of their kids, spouses, parents, friends, clients, coworkers, students, patients- etc… and often putting their own health and happiness on the back burner as a result.

I am here to support YOU.

I am here to encourage, push, and remind you that YOU are the most important thing. Because your overall health will ultimately determine the way you show up to the many roles you play in your life.

It’s time to prioritize YOU. It’s time to put yourself FIRST.

Let me show you how.

core beliefs

the key concepts i actively live my life by... and why you should too ;)

Balance over everything

We are not perfect and we aren't supposed to be. This isn't about getting to a size 2, it's about getting to a place you feel healthy and comfortable in your skin. We crush goals AND eat pizza here.

Baby steps are forward steps

How many times have you sat and conquered a thousand-page novel in one day? Never? Right! So stop expecting that your progress in a fitness journey should be any different. Little by little. Be patient.

it'll work...if you do

Motivation is not constant for ANYONE. It comes and goes in waves. I can push you, but I can't do any of this FOR you. Progress is only guaranteed if you show up for yourself. You can do it.

A sneak peek into the you first fitness program

Exercise shouldn't be something you dread...

Exercise should not be a punishment we subject ourselves to for the foods we eat or the treats we indulge in. It shouldn't be a terrible task we have to endure in order to look a certain way to fit in or feel worthy. Exercise should be something we ENJOY. It should be a means to reward our bodies and to process and let go of the the many emotions and stressors we experience throughout the day. Exercise should be seen as a bridge to happiness and health, and an effective and necessary way to collect the feel-good endorphins we deserve.

But let's get one thing straight... You do NOT need to kill yourself with hours and hours of cardio every day to see the changes you desire. Sustainable, long-term change is made only when physical movement can be consistently integrated into your existing schedule. I'm talking 30 - 60 minutes of thoughtful movement (max), 3 - 5 times per week.

Whether you choose the low-accountability Elevate or all-inclusive All-In Program, your membership includes access to an easy-to-use app where you will find your pre-assigned workouts ready and waiting for you. Each workout is structured with videos and instructions for every exercise and available for you to follow-along and complete at whatever time works best for you.

Excited? Good. Me too. Let's get moving! :)

Just because "you are what you eat" doesn't mean that food has to be boring

I'm going to be really upfront and vulnerable with you here, and I hope that's okay. When I was 16 years old I developed a serious eating disorder that drastically limited my health, happiness, and overall quality of life for the better part of my late teens and early twenties. I attributed food and calories to fear of weight gain and poor self-image, and I made it my mission to take complete and total control of my intake as a result. I didn't see food as fuel for my body, I saw it as a threat. And it took years of hard work and effort to reverse that association.

Today, I have a healthy and happy relationship with food. I understand the way it contributes directly to our efforts to do things like lose fat, tone muscle, and build a bigger booty. But even beyond that, I understand the power food holds in the social aspect of our lives. In short, calories = community. Food brings us together. Memories are created sharing meals with loved ones. Laughing episodes erupt among friends clutching wine glasses around tables. We are what we eat, yes. But we are also the experiences we partake in WHILE eating. And those experiences should never come at the cost of "dieting."

The nutrition component of this program is whatever you want it to be. No restrictions included. If you despise cooking and want to spend the least amount of time in the kitchen as possible, I'll calculate a healthy nutrition range for you and teach you how to meal prep. And if you're a social butterfly and can't possibly commit to pre-prepared meals for every day of the week, I'll coach you through effective nutrition approaches that lets you make progress in your fitness goals while still saying yes to dinner with bae and brunch with the girls.

Slow and steady

We tend not to fully appreciate the progress we make in tiny steps forward. Baby steps, after all, are dramatically less noticeable than major leaps. But major leaps can't sustainably be taken over and over and over again.
Consistency in smaller steps are not only the solution for sustainable improvement, but major and drastically noticeable changes in the long run.
Both YFF program options (Elevate and All-In) incorporate these baby-step advances toward success into your day-to-day life. No need to completely flip your existing routine upside-down and inside-out. Adopting new habits is vital for mental, physical, and emotional health, so let's take it one step at a time and make sure it all truly sticks along the way.
